How Junary Started

A question I am asked very often is - "How did you come to start Junary?"

Honestly, Junary was born out of my own frustrations with toddler feeding gear. I often thought "is this really the best that there is?".

I have siblings in Australia and I saw the cool items that were circulating there and I decided that it was time to make these items available to South Africans too.

Junary started with the Tiny Toppers - I needed a healthier snack alternative to give to a hungry toddler that wouldn't mess everywhere, and allowed my hands to remain free, and after getting some toppers from my sister, I realised that this was really a missing product. I won't lie - it has taken time, patience and education to get this product out there, but once parents see and experience it, they can't get enough! I have a husband who works overseas so I am solo parenting half the year, and I still wanted to do trips and adventures with my children but I did not have the luxury of sitting in the back seat of a car or having 4 hands to help navigate the day, I needed tools that could really help me.

The stainless steel range was brought in after I tasted my daughter's yoghurt and realised why she wasn't eating. The silicone bowl made the food taste really awful, and I felt so bad for pressuring her to eat! I immediately googled how to get around it and tried every lemon and bicarb trick in the book only for it to last 2 uses and be back. I also felt strange cutting up her food knowing that I was slicing through the bottom of the plate or bowl. I switched over to hard plastic and she complained that the bowl and plate was moving too much and I had to feed her, but being alone with a newborn, I needed her to eat independently. The bowls with silicone sleeves are heavy enough to not slip and slide and it was a new experience! I found something that I could cut in, put hot foods and move the bowls to the window without burning off my fingerprints. The stainless steel cutlery was revolutionary with the fork piercing foods and spoons scooping perfectly.

Junary has expanded and it is growing as my family grows and I find new needs and gaps that need filling and covering. I will be honest - I am loving it, and I am filling my life with products that are really only the best. My only hope is to keep growing this community where everyone can experience what I am!

We can't wait to have you part of the Junary family.
