About Junary
What is Junary? Junary imports stainless steel and silicone feeding products for babies and toddlers — plates, bowls, cutlery, cups, bibs and lunchboxes designed to make mealtimes easier for busy parents. We're proudly South African and based in Cape Town drawing from our own experience as parents.
Who are your products designed for? Our range covers babies starting solids from 6 months right through to toddlers around 4 years old and up. Each product page lists a recommended age range so you can shop by your child's stage.
What makes Junary different from plastic feeding products? Our core range is made from food-grade stainless steel (SS304) paired with soft silicone grips and suction bases (food-grade) — no plastic, no BPA. Stainless steel doesn't hold onto stains or smells the way plastic can, and it's built to last from one stage to the next (and from one sibling to the next).
Materials & Safety
Are Junary products safe for my baby? Yes. Our products are made from food-grade SS304 stainless steel and BPA-free food-grade silicone. We carry independent material testing certificates which we are happy to produce on enquiry.
Is stainless steel safe for babies to eat from? Yes — food-grade SS304 stainless steel is non-toxic, doesn't leach chemicals, and is naturally resistant to bacteria, which makes it a popular choice for baby feeding gear.
Are the silicone parts (grips, suction base, bibs) safe too? Yes, all silicone components are BPA-free and food-grade, so they're safe for direct contact with food and for little ones who like to chew.
Do your products contain BPA, PVC or phthalates? No — our stainless steel and silicone products are BPA-free and PVC and phthalate-free.
Sizing, Age Ranges & Choosing the Right Product
How do I know which product is right for my child's age? Every product page lists a recommended age range (for example, our Little Gripper Plate and Bowl suit 6+ months, while our Big Bites Cutlery Trio is designed for toddlers 18 months–4 years). If you're not sure, our [Shop by Age/Stage] page groups products by stage so you can browse by what your child needs right now.
What's the difference between the Little Bites Cutlery Duo and the Big Bites Cutlery Trio? Both are the same comfortable, toddler-sized 13cm length — the Big Bites Trio simply adds a child-safe knife to the fork and spoon for toddlers ready to start cutting soft foods themselves.
My child is between two age ranges — which size should I choose? Age ranges are a guide, not a strict rule. If your child is a confident, independent eater, it's usually fine to size up; if they're just starting out, the earlier-stage product (e.g. our suction plates and bowls) will give them more support.
Do the suction plates and bowls actually stay in place? Yes, but it depends on your surface— the silicone suction base is designed to grip smooth, flat surfaces like a highchair tray or table, which helps cut down on tipped bowls and mealtime mess. Wooden adn textured surfaces will have challenges, however this is easily worked around if using a vinyl printed/ silicone placemat.
Caring for Your Junary Products
Are Junary products dishwasher safe? Yes! Being a mother myself, all items will be dishwasher safe.
Can I put the stainless steel pieces in the microwave? No — like all metal, our stainless steel plates, bowls and cutlery should never go in the microwave. Silicone-only components can typically go in the microwave, but always check the specific product page first.
How do I clean the suction base so it keeps working? Wash the silicone suction base with warm soapy water and make sure it's completely dry before use — trapped moisture or food residue is the most common reason suction weakens over time.
Will the stainless steel stain, rust or scratch? Food-grade stainless steel resists staining and rust with normal use and washing. Light surface marks from cutlery use are normal over time and don't affect safety or performance. If you leave stainless steel items on a stainless steel drying rack to airdry- rust can transfer from one surface to another so please watch out for this. If your rack has rust, we recommend a plastic drying rack instead.
How do I remove stains or odours from silicone parts? A soak in warm water with a little baking soda usually lifts most stains and odours from silicone. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, which can wear down the surface over time. Because the contents sit in the stainless steel portions, there should not be any odour or stain issues.
Shipping & Delivery
Do you deliver across South Africa? Yes, nationwide delivery.
How much does delivery cost? We off various rates. A free pickup from Durbanville, Cape Town. Pudo Locker collection (enter locker address in delivery address) and a to your door delivery with Bob Go couiers. We also offer free delivery on orders over R1500. The shipping amounts will be displayed at checkout.
How long will my order take to arrive? Once the order has been confirmed it has a 1-3 day processing time. We then send it via courier and that can take 1-5 days for delivery.
Do you offer local pickup in Cape Town? Yes, free pickup from 27 Mendelsohn crescent, Sonstraal Heights, Cape Town.
How do I track my order? Once your order ships, you'll receive a confirmation email with tracking details so you can follow it every step of the way. This will be from either Courier Guy or Bob Go.
Orders, Payment & Checkout
What payment methods do you accept? We accept all card payments.
Is it safe to pay on your website? Yes — all payments are processed through secure, encrypted checkout with Yoco.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it? If you would like to cancel or change, please do so within 12 hours of the order being placed.
Do you offer gift wrapping or gift messages? Our products are all packaged beautifully and ready to gift. If purchasing a gift set / kit it will come in a gift box with gift filler and a beautiful bow.
Returns & Exchanges
What's your returns policy? Can I exchange an item for a different colour or size? What if my item arrives damaged or faulty? How long do refunds take to process?

What's included in your gift bundles? Our Little Intro, Tiny Tastes and Mighty Mealtimes kits bring together our most popular feeding pieces at a better combined price than buying separately — a simple way to gift a complete mealtime starter set. Each bundle's product page lists exactly what's included. Our Little Intro Kit and the Mighty Mealtimes Kit cover each stainless steel and silicone feeding product in the Junary ecosystem (bar the lunchbox).
Are the bundles good value compared to buying items separately? Yes — our bundles are priced below the combined cost of buying each item on its own, so they're a good option whether you're stocking up or buying a gift.
